The Bachelor Arie, Week 7: Under the Tuscan Sun

February 14, 2018

In the final week before hometown dates, Arie decided it was time to get to know some of the girls. These lucky bustards went to Italy where they saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the always insightful and chatty Lauren asked “why is is leaning?”

One-on-one with Becca K.

Arie picked Becca up in a convertible and they walked around the city of Barga. He hoped to connect with Becca again because the spark in their relationship was burning out after only a few weeks of knowing each other. On their walk, Arie asked the man selling bread who only spoke Italian “How do you say small?” and they bought the smallest loaf of bread to share. This guy doesn’t even have an appreciation for bread? Where’s Oprah when you need her? Arie chewed the bread and fed it to Becca like a baby bird – that’s the only explanation for this.

I guess he found the spark again, Becca told Arie she would be excited to bring him home to her family and Arie ended up giving her the rose. He also told her he was falling for her which seemed genuine given the fact that he wasn’t even sure if he liked her 10 hours prior.

Back at the hotel, Jacqueline realized she was getting too close to actually ending up with Arie which scared the crap out of her. She determined that she secured a substantial social media following to make a living as an influencer, so she chose to leave on her own. She left Arie and sobbed in the hallway, I assume only upset about the remaining free international trips she was giving up.

One-on-one date with Lauren

“Wow. I was not expecting that,” Lauren admitted in a disgusted monotone voice when she got her date card. Lauren smiled for the first time the entire season while they biked around the city so I guess a producer had a discussion with her. Lauren told Arie she would be nervous for him to meet her family because she just went through a break up and doesn’t want that to happen again. I guess she thinks she’s the only person to ever go through a break up and get hurt? After Arie told us the entire date that Lauren has been unable to open up, and she told him she’s having a difficult time being vulnerable, she told him that she’s falling in love with him. Oh, okay. Right after, Arie walked away and left her at the table to question everything. This was so bizarre! What was the point of this? He finally went back to tell her that he’s so happy she’s been so open with him. WUT? He DOES know her favorite color is burgundy so I guess he knows the really important stuff. He then told her he was falling “so deeply in love with her it’s crazy.” Yes, it is crazy, you ass. You guys don’t even speak to each other.

One-on-one date with Seinne

Arie and Seinne went truffle hunting with a nice Italian man named Julio and then stayed with his family and made homemade pasta and pizza that looked friggin’ delicious. At dinner, they had a wonderfully deep conversation about their future and had a very clear connection, so naturally, Arie sent her home. Arie legit makes no sense.

Group Date

Kendall told Arie she was ready to move to Scottsdale to be with him and he seemed happy about that but who the hell knows with this guy? Tia told Arie that she doesn’t think Bekah M. is serious enough about marriage. He kind of brushed her off – probably knowing he won’t pick Bekah or Tia in the end. They both speak too much. To Tia’s credit, she was upfront with Bekah and told her what she said to Arie. Bekah handled it like a mature person and got upset and went crying to Arie. She claimed that she was serious and she was excited for him to meet her family because her Dad is the same age as Arie so they have a lot in common. Kendall got the first rose and Arie spent the remaining time with Bekah and Tia on an awkward two-on-one dinner date. They both told Arie they were falling in love with him. He ended up giving Tia the rose, probably because he was dreading the idea of explaining to a father why he needed to marry his 22-year-old daughter as a 36-year-old man.

I am so confused and have no idea who Arie likes. I’m going to guess that he picks Lauren because he’s so strangely obsessed with her for some reason. Whoever he picks, they’re probably not together due to the fact that he knows nothing about any of these women.
